Australian Open is less than 10 hours away, and I’m so excited! I’m on day shift again, see, and we won’t be as busy (I hope), so I’ll be able to follow the scores since Melbourne is hours ahead of Manila. AO is the first grand slam of the year, and of course Justine is the top seed. The draw isn’t as crazy as before, but it’s definitely star-studded, as most players are still fresh this early in the season. In Justine’s quarter are Maria Sharapova, Elena Dementieva, Tatiana Golovin and Lindsay Davenport. Also in the top half (but in the other quarter) are Jelena Jankovic, Amelie Mauresmo, Nicole Vaidisova and Serena Williams. Meanwhile, on the other side of the draw are Venus Williams, Ana Ivanovic, Daniela Hantuchova, Nadia Petrova, Lucie Safarova and Svetlana Kuznetsova. I say it’s a nice even draw, and as always, Justine would be totally prepared and totally determined to give her best in all her matches.
Anyway, here’s hoping this year’s Australian Open will be a repeat of 2004, sans all the controversies of course.
you shall be in my arms again soon, my precious.
Allez, Justine!
